A mother in Gaza walked miles, baby in arms, searching for bread. Children go hungry while aid trucks sit at the border. This is not a natural disaster—it is deliberate. It is man-made famine, forced by blockade and bombing.
And yet, world leaders keep giving speeches. They wave flags, promise solidarity, and then go home to sign contracts with the very corporations that profit from this genocide. Enough with the empty words. This article is about action—protecting civilians, demanding accountability, and calling out leaders who hide behind slogans while Palestinians starve.
What the world must do now
- Protect civilians. Stop bombing homes, shelters, and schools.
- Open aid routes. Let food, medicine, and water flow in.
- Guarantee medical care. Hospitals and clinics must be safe, supplies must reach doctors.
- Support refugees. Safe passage and real support for the displaced.
- Hold leaders and companies accountable. Stop allowing businesses to profit from blood.
These are not requests. They are obligations under international law.
What happened in August 2025
Famine declared
UN agencies declared famine in Gaza. A man-made famine! Nearly a quarter of the population faces starvation. In August alone, about 138 people—including 25 children—died of malnutrition. Experts warn 130,000 children under five could die by mid-2026 without a big push to help.(Reuters)
Aid stuck or deadly
Thousands of aid trucks wait at the border. Food partly enters but gets looted or stuck.(Reuters) More than 2,000 Palestinians died seeking aid at distribution sites.(Wikipedia)
Global Sumud Flotilla sails
An international flotilla launched—dozens of boats from 44 countries aim to break the blockade and deliver aid by sea. Activists, lawyers, doctors, artists, Greta Thunberg among them. The goal: open a humanitarian corridor.(Progressive International, Dazed Digital, Wikipedia, gmtgaza.org)
Calls for justice rise
UN and rights groups say famine is man-made. Some call it a war crime. They urge an end to aid blockades and respect for international law.(The Guardian, Reuters)
Voices from the ground
- From a flotilla organizer: “We are sailing because governments have failed. Silence enables atrocity.”(Progressive International)
- Another activist: “Silence today is complicity in genocide. If you do not act now, you are complicit.”(gmtgaza.org)
- A breastfeeding mother said hunger is so deep that she can’t feed her baby.(Reuters)
The Hague and holding power to account
ICJ ruling
In July 2024, the International Court of Justice ruled Israel must end its illegal occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem “as rapidly as possible.” That ruling stands. Leaders cannot claim ignorance.
Francesca Albanese’s report
The UN Special Rapporteur named global corporations profiting from the occupation—Microsoft, Google (Alphabet), Amazon, Caterpillar, Volvo, Booking.com, Airbnb, BNP Paribas, and more. These companies are not bystanders. They are enablers.
What leaders can do now
It is high time our leaders stop treating Palestine as a campaign slogan. Every election, they wave the flag, shout “Free Palestine,” and collect votes. But when it comes to action, they sign deals with Google, Amazon, BAE Systems, Caterpillar, and other companies named in Francesca Albanese’s report—the same companies fueling occupation and genocide.
This is hypocrisy. How can you stand on a stage, scream “Free Palestine,” and then sign contracts with corporations complicit in killing Palestinians? How can you claim to defend justice while pouring money into the very system that destroys lives?
Leaders have the power to act, but too many choose comfort over courage. Enough excuses.
- Ban or withdraw from deals with those listed.
- Support BDS efforts—or at the very least, demand companies cut ties with the occupation.
- Push courts, including the ICC, to prosecute executives who profit from war crimes.
Words are cheap. Actions are proof. If leaders keep feeding the same corporations that supply weapons and tech for apartheid, then their speeches mean nothing.
What you, businesses, policymakers can do next
You
- Share facts and reports, not propaganda.
- BOYCOTT! Don’t listen to officials hiding behind religious coats telling you not to.
- Support flotilla efforts or local aid campaigns.
- Organize and join protests. Go on the streets.
- Pressure your government to cancel deals with complicit companies.
Businesses
- Check your supply chains. Are you tied to companies on the UN list?
- Divest. Say no to complicity.
- Speak out publicly. Silence is consent.
Policymakers
- Cut trade deals with companies linked to genocide.
- Push international courts to investigate corporate and state complicity.
- Fund UN aid, open humanitarian corridors, and protect medical workers.
Their dealings and support with genocide enablers must end.
Leaders love to parade on stage, shouting “Free Palestine,” while their signatures sit on contracts with the very corporations tied to genocide. That betrayal costs lives. It is not a mistake—it is a choice.
People in Gaza and the Occupied West Bank do not need more speeches. They need action. They need open borders for aid, hospitals that are not bombed, and leaders who stop funding the very companies named by Francesca Albanese and targeted by the BDS movement.
Stop hiding behind slogans. Cancel the deals. End the partnerships. Use your power where it matters.
If you scream “Free Palestine” but keep shaking hands with Amazon, Google, Caterpillar, or BAE Systems, then you are not standing for justice—you are standing in the way of it.
This genocide continues because too many leaders think words are enough. They are not. Accountability is the only path to protect civilian lives.
