Statement: Quds News Network Mourns Journalist Maisara Salah

Maisara Salah

With deep sorrow and grief, Quds News Network mourns the loss of its colleague, journalist Maisara Salah, who was murdered after being critically wounded by Israeli gunfire in northern Gaza. Salah was targeted during the ongoing Gaza war, where the occupation army continues to destroy infrastructure and take lives in countless brutal ways.

Salah was injured near Awni Al-Harthani School in northern Gaza after heavy Israeli shelling targeted the school, which was sheltering hundreds of displaced people. These civilians have been trapped for over two months under conditions of starvation and insecurity caused by the continuous military aggression.

Despite relentless efforts by medical teams at Kamal Adwan Hospital to save his life, the occupation state of Israel refused to allow his transfer to hospitals in Gaza City for essential treatment. On Saturday, November 30, 2024, after desperate attempts to move him to Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital or Al-Shifa Hospital, Israeli forces obstructed his ambulance for eight hours. Salah passed away due to delayed treatment, and his transfer was only permitted after his death.

Quds News Network holds the Israeli occupation army fully responsible for the death of journalist Maisara Salah, who was killed twice: once by direct injury and again by being denied timely medical care.

The network calls on human rights and international organizations to launch an immediate and thorough investigation into the ongoing war crimes committed by the occupation state of Israel against Palestinian journalists. These crimes have, to date, claimed the lives of more than 190 journalists in blatant violation of all international laws and norms.
