KUALA LUMPUR, Friday, August 16, 2024 (WAFA) – Forty-one Palestinian civilians who suffered various injuries in the ongoing Israeli genocidal war in Gaza today arrived in Malaysia for treatment.

The Palestinians, aged between eight months and 62 years, were flown to Malaysia from the Egyptian capital, Cairo, onboard two Malaysian Air Force transport aircraft in implementation of the President of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim’s initiative to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.

The injured were received by Malaysian Defence Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin, a host of Malaysian officials, Palestine’s ambassador to Malaysia Walid Abu Ali and Egypt’s ambassador to Malaysia Ragai Nasr, and were accompanied by 86 family members or next of kin.

Speaking at a press conference after receiving the patients, Malaysian Defence Minister Nordin affirmed his country’s position in support of the Palestinian question and the Palestinian people, particularly given the ongoing Israeli genocidal aggression on the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the killing of at least 40,005 Palestinians and injuring at least 92,401 others, mostly women and children.
