On the morning of February 28, 2026, the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls’ elementary school in Minab, Iran, was turned into a graveyard. Kids were in their classrooms. Parents were rushing to pick them up after hearing news of airstrikes. But before they could get their children to safety, the bombs fell. When the dust cleared, over 168 people were dead. The vast majority were young schoolgirls between seven and twelve. Teachers, the principal, and desperate parents were also killed. This was not an accident. This was a calculated strike. It was a brutal reminder that when powerful colonizers go to war, innocent children pay the ultimate price.
To understand the pure evil of this attack, look at how it was carried out. The school was not hit once. It was hit in a “double tap” attack. This is a cowardly military tactic. A bomb is dropped on a target. The military then waits for paramedics and everyday people to rush into the rubble to save whoever is trapped inside. Once rescuers are on the scene, pulling bleeding kids from the wreckage, they drop another bomb. Survivors and local officials confirmed this exactly happened in Minab. After the first strike, the school was hit again, wiping out the survivors and those trying to help.
So, who pulled the trigger? If you listen to the US government, they will spin you in circles. Donald Trump immediately went on television and lied. He boldly claimed that Iran bombed its own children, saying they fired bad munitions by mistake. When independent experts pointed out that Iran does not even own the type of weapon used, Trump shifted the blame to Israel. Israel quickly denied any involvement, leaving the USA looking incredibly guilty.
Despite the lies, the evidence tells the truth. Video footage and missile fragments pulled from the rubble were analyzed by independent groups like Bellingcat and major outlets like The New York Times. The bomb parts had US military serial numbers on them. Experts confirmed the weapon was a US-made Tomahawk cruise missile. Iran does not have Tomahawks. The US military is the only force in this conflict firing them.
If this horrific story sounds familiar, it is because we have been watching the exact same nightmare play out in Gaza. There is no difference between how the US military behaved in Minab and how Israeli Zionists behave in Gaza. Both militaries use the exact same playbook. They drop massive bombs on civilian areas, wipe out entire generations, and then shrug their shoulders.
They use the same tired excuses, too. The Iranian school was near a military compound, just like schools and hospitals in Gaza are constantly accused of being near Hamas targets. They use this excuse to justify blowing up classrooms full of kids. Do not let them sanitize this with Zionist propaganda terms like “collateral damage” or “human shields.” A dead child is a dead child. They are child killers. They rely on Western media to cover up their crimes so they can get away with murder again and again.
For decades, the USA and Israel have been allowed to operate above the law. They bomb schools, hospitals, and refugee camps without facing a single consequence. They face no sanctions from the international community. They just point fingers, issue fake investigations, and wait for the news cycle to move on.
But we cannot afford to move on. The war in Iran is already hitting us right where we live. Because of this senseless bombing campaign, global oil prices are going crazy. The cost of living is skyrocketing. Working-class people all over the world are paying the price at the gas pump and the grocery store to fund a war of colonization. We are literally paying for the bombs that kill little girls in Minab and Gaza. Now that our daily lives are being directly affected by their greed and violence, we must realize this is the absolute time to escalate our actions against these two colonizers.
We, the civilians, actually have the power to stop this. We cannot wait for politicians to grow a conscience. To hold the USA and Israel accountable, we have to hit them where it hurts: their money and their public image.
This is where the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) Movement comes in. The BDS movement was created to end international support for Israel’s oppression of Palestinians, but its powerful guidelines are exactly what we need to use against the US military-industrial complex right now. Here is how you can escalate action today:
First, boycott the war profiteers. The Tomahawk missiles used in Minab are built by massive defense contractors. While you cannot boycott a missile directly, you can boycott the consumer brands, tech companies, and banks that partner with these weapons manufacturers and the Israeli military. Stick to the official BDS targeted list to make your consumer boycott hurt their bottom line. Stop giving money to companies funding child killers.
Second, demand immediate divestment. Find out where your university, workplace, or pension fund invests its money. If they hold stock in companies like Raytheon or Boeing, or if they invest in corporations complicit in the occupation of Gaza, you must demand they pull that money out immediately. Organize walkouts, protests, and sit-ins until your institutions stop funding these colonizers.
Third, push for heavy sanctions. The USA and Israel get away with murder because no one sanctions them. Call your local representatives every day. Demand an immediate arms embargo. Demand that your government stops sending billions of tax dollars to fund these wars. Refuse to vote for any politician taking money from pro-war or Zionist lobbying groups.
The blood of the schoolgirls in Minab, just like the children in Gaza, is on the hands of these imperialist governments. We must cut through the propaganda, recognize our shared struggle, and escalate our resistance. Join the BDS movement today and shut down their war machine for good.
