The 17 November vote gave the United States direct authority over Gaza through a new plan. The plan sets up a board led by Donald Trump. The board controls aid, movement, and rebuilding. A foreign force will enforce the plan and report to the US. The board must consult Israel. Palestinians lose control over decisions about their land.
Palestinian factions, civil society groups, and rights groups rejected the plan. Only the Palestinian Authority accepted it. Critics warn that this repeats old mandate systems. The plan avoids the issue of self-determination. It ignores crimes committed against Palestinians. It places no accountability on Israel. Donors are asked to fund damage caused by the same regime responsible for the destruction.
Israeli forces continued to strike Gaza during the current ceasefire. The Palestinian Red Crescent recorded more than 500 violations. More than 342 civilians were killed, including 67 children. Families live with constant fear. Neighborhoods remain uninhabitable. Winter storms worsen life for displaced residents.
The West Bank faces the same pattern. Israeli forces launched a major operation in the Tubas district. Local sources say the real goal is land seizure for a settlement project. The army placed Tubas and nearby towns under siege. Soldiers raided homes, detained residents, cut electricity and water, and blocked medical crews. Apache helicopters fired toward residential areas.
Land seizure orders cover more than 1,042 dunams across several towns. Maps show a road project that runs 22 kilometers through key farmland. The road cuts through homes and grazing areas. Residents fear displacement once construction starts. Past cases show that these “military roads” end up serving settlers.
Seventy percent of Tubas is already under full Israeli control. New outposts grow with army support. Each outpost brings more fencing, more land loss, and more movement limits.
Inside Gaza, the US plan deepens the state of limbo. Israel continues to strike the Strip and expand restricted zones. Analysts say Israel wants to avoid the next phase of the ceasefire because it demands political commitments. Many expect long periods of controlled instability.
Residents face trauma and loss. Many lost homes, family members, and income. Children shake with fear each time bombing restarts. Refugees in tents face cold, hunger, and blocked aid. Reconstruction has not started.
The plan does not address root causes. It removes Palestinians from decisions about their land. It protects a system built on force and removes any path toward justice.
Public pressure matters. Support sanctions, boycott efforts, and legal action outside the Security Council. These tools create accountability. These steps protect Palestinian rights to land, safety, and self-governance.
Share verified information. Support groups doing legal and humanitarian work. Press leaders to act. These actions help move the region toward a future where Palestinians decide their own path.
