The priority targets include global brands like Chevron, Intel, Dell, HP, Carrefour, AXA, Disney, Siemens, and Remax. According to BDS, these companies have a proven record of enabling Israel’s actions against Palestinians, and the movement calls for a complete boycott of their products and services.
Pressure targets, which require active campaigns and lobbying efforts, include tech giants like Google and Amazon, as well as travel and pharmaceutical companies such as Expedia, Airbnb, Booking.com, and Teva. BDS also supports grassroots-organized boycotts of brands like McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Papa John’s, Burger King, and Wix, citing their ties to Israel’s military or donations amid the ongoing genocide.
What is BDS?
Chevron has become a central focus of the campaign due to its role in supplying resources and millions of dollars in revenue to Israel while it continues the genocide in Gaza. The BDS movement said that Chevron is profiting from the “livestreamed genocide,” while also contributing to environmental destruction globally.
Since launching the Boycott Chevron campaign, BDS reports that tens of thousands of consumers have pledged to avoid Chevron gas stations. Activists have organized pickets worldwide at Chevron, Caltex, and Texaco locations, and at least three cities have divested from Chevron.
In light of the ongoing Gaza genocide, Chevron CEO Mike Wirth admitted that the company’s gas fields in the Eastern Mediterranean have been targeted. BDS argues that this is evidence of the financial and ethical risks of investing in companies tied to human rights abuses.
The movement has announced a weekend of action from January 31 to February 2, urging supporters to pressure Chevron to end its operations in Israel. “Boycott and pressure these companies now for their complicity in Israel’s occupation, apartheid, and genocide,” the BDS movement stated, emphasizing the urgency of cutting ties with any entities supporting Israel’s actions. The call to action comes as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza deepens, with the movement reiterating its stance on the need for global accountability.
