Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- In the first Palestinian official response to Donald Trump’s election as President of the United States, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas issued several strong messages to the incoming US administration. The movement emphasized that its stance toward the new administration will be determined by its actions and positions regarding the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights.

Hamas expressed deep regret over the positions taken by successive US administrations since the 1948 occupation of Palestine, describing them as consistently biased in favor of Israeli occupation and offering continuous support in all areas.

The movement pointed out that the previous US administration provided political and military cover to Israeli war criminals, making it a partner in the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people.

The movement called for an end to US bias towards Israeli occupation, urging the new administration to take serious and meaningful steps to halt the ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people. It also demanded a cessation of military support and political backing for Israel and called for the recognition of Palestinian rights.

Hamas further asserted that the elected US president must listen to the voices raised within American society over the past year, protesting Israeli genocide in Gaza and opposing the support and bias toward Israeli occupation and genocide.

The movement reaffirmed that the Palestinian people will continue their resistance against Israeli occupation and will not accept any solutions that undermine their legitimate rights to freedom, independence, self-determination, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
