Israel’s air force bombed targets in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria overnight on 10 October, massacring civil defense workers and displaced people.

At least 16 people were killed and many others wounded in Israeli airstrikes near Yemen Al-Saeed Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip early Thursday, according to medical and civil defense sources.

Hossam Abu Safiya, the director of the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza, told Anadolu Agency that Israeli warplanes targeted displaced people’s tents outside the hospital.

Paramedics said the dead included women and children and that the bombing left “charred remains of the deceased Palestinians.”

Later, several Palestinians were killed and wounded in a second airstrike targeting displaced people outside the entrance of the hospital, the Gaza Civil Defense reported.

Since Saturday, the Israeli army has enforced a tight siege around northern Gaza from all directions, cutting it off from Gaza City. Efforts are underway to force the remaining 300,000 Palestinians in northern Gaza to flee their homes and prevent them from ever returning, according to what the Israeli media is calling the “generals’ plan.”

In Lebanon, five civil defense workers were killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted their center in the town of Derdghaya in the district of Tyre, the National News Agency (NNA) reported on Thursday, 10 October.

The search for missing people under the rubble of a church and the Civil Defense center targeted in the airstrike is still underway.

Another two people were killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the town of Sohmor in Lebanon’s western Bekaa region at dawn, NNA reported.

On Wednesday evening, five people were killed and 12 wounded in an Israeli attack on Wardaniyeh in southern Lebanon.

The Emergency Operations Center of Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health said that in addition to the dead and wounded who are able to be identified, there were also “body parts” left in the wake of the attack, and DNA tests are being conducted to identify who they belong to.

In addition to airstrikes, Israeli ground forces continue their efforts to penetrate south Lebanon.

On Thursday morning, the Israeli military announced that a sergeant major from the Alon Brigade’s 5030th Battalion was killed, the twelfth to die so far fighting Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. A reserve soldier from the 5030th Battalion was seriously wounded in the same incident and taken to a hospital, the military added.

The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health announced Wednesday that the death toll from the Israeli aggression on Lebanon has risen to 2,141 and 10,099 wounded.

Syrian state media SANA reported that Israeli warplanes bombed sites in the Homs countryside and in Hama overnight.

“At about 1:00 am Thursday, the Israeli enemy carried out an aerial aggression from the direction of northern Lebanon, targeting a car assembly plant in the Hassieh Industrial City in Homs countryside and a military site in Hama,” a military source told SANA.

On Tuesday, an Israeli airstrike on a residential building in the Mezzeh neighborhood in Damascus killed seven people, among them children and women.
