NEW YORK, August 30, 2024 (WAFA) – Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner General for the UN Refugees and Works Agency (UNRWA), said that more than 150 Palestinian children have been killed in the West Bank since the war started on October 7, 2023.

“Israeli forces’ operations in the northern occupied West Bank continue impacting Palestine Refugees,” he noted in a post on X.

Tens of thousands of people in four refugee camps have been impacted by this operation, including through the destruction of public and private infrastructure, he said.

He stressed that UNRWA was forced to suspend its services to the communities in several camps.

“It is time to reach a political solution to this decades-long conflict to end the suffering of civilians wherever they are.”
