90% of Palestinians in Gaza have now been displaced, UNICEF revealed on 17 July 2024, a large number of them children [UNICEF/X]

Ninety per cent of Gaza’s population has been displaced since the outbreak of the war in October 2023, many of them children, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said yesterday.

“Places where people are being forced to move lack basic necessities and safety,” UNICEF added in a post on X.

The agency reiterated its call for an end to all hostilities and a lasting ceasefire.

Israel has continued to issue evacuation orders to Palestinians, forcing them out of shelters time and again, while bombing areas it has declared as ‘safe zones’.
